Day 15 - Long Island, yet again s'more

More from L.I., including Bethpage Golf Course. That is the first hole at the infamous "Black" course behind me. Didn't get to play there, but did play at Smithtown Landing with my cousin Marc on Friday.

Day 14 - Family Bar-B-Que at Chrissys'

We went to a Bar-B-Que at Chris and Marcs' house ( Cousins ) on Long Island. We had a great time. It was warm and sunny and the food was great as was the company. We hadn't seen most of these people for 30 years. The parents were kids and the Grandparents were young and the kids were none existent. Joe and I haven't changed at all......Yuk Yuk. It was a great day and we thank everyone that showed up and made this trip all worth it.

Day 13 - More Long Island

Another day touring around some of our old haunts, including boats in the bay at Cold Springs Harbour, Hecksher State Park in Huntington, the Huntington Train Station, and a bait shop in Oyster Bay. Why a bait shop? Because. Also, the interesting looking monument is at the Suffolk County Viet Nam Veterans Memorial. That's for my good friend Rick who is house sitting while we are gone. Thanks for your service buddy. Semper Fi.

Day 12 - Long Island

On Wednesday we drove out to Long Island to get a bit of nostalgia. We went to Lyons Street which was where I grew up. The houses looked larger, they have updated most of them but the the street where we played baseball and went sledding in the winter seemed smaller. The thing that struck us the most is how green and over grown or grown up all the trees and plant life is. It is just beautiful ! We went to the cemetary where my Mom and Brother were buried. We drove up to where we were sure it was and then walked around for over an hour and almost left with out finding the marker. We finally had to call the cemetary and the guy on the phone told us where to find it. We went to Joes High School and my Elementary school. We went to Farmingdale and took a tour of Joes' street, saw his house and both of his Aunts house and lots of his old friends homes. We did alot of reminicing. It was great. The next day we went to Joes' Cousin Alices' daughters house. We spent the day and watched her 2 absolutely adorable grandkids Luke and Eva better none as Lukey and Eva Beans. We had pizza for lunch and so we all decided ice cream for dinner was would be appropriate. Alices' son-in-law Marc and Joe went golfing when Marc got home from work. Joe was a happy camper, it has been along time for Joe to go without golf. Alices' daughter Chrissy and Alice and I just hung out and we had a wonderful and long day.
